Published the 11/10/2007

Luc Hoffmann, the founder of Tour du Valat, received on September 20th, 2007 in Mainau (Lake Constance, Germany), the 2007 Euronatur award given by the Euronatur Foundation for the protection of the European nature patrimony.

Le President of the Foundation, Klaus-Peter Hutter, highlighted Luc Hoffmann's exceptional and lifelong commitment for nature conservation in Europe and in the world. "The international nature conservation owes him tremendously. Many natural areas, in the Mediterranean basin, in the Alps and in other places over the world could not have been preserved without his personnal implication."

Among the former Euronatur price-winners, we may mention Klaus Töpfer, Mikhaïl Gorbatchev or Nelson Mandela. The Euronatur award, which is not endowed, rewards exceptional commitments in favour of nature conservation.
