The Spanish Foundation for Biodiversity and the Superior Council for Scientific Research paid tribute to Luc Hoffmann on October 21st for his decisive action in favour of nature conservation, and more specifically for the protection of the Donana National Park. He was awarded by His Majesty the King of Spain the medal of the Order of Isabella the Catholic. During the ceremony, Luc Hoffmann also handed over to the Superior Council for Scientific Research a collection of highly valuable documents he received from his friend and colleague Jose Antonio Valverde, another pioneer of nature conservation in Spain. |
