Is diet segregation between dabbling ducks due to food partitioning? A review of seasonal patterns in the Western Palearctic

Published the 09/02/12

Article on the use of food resources among dabbling in the western Palearctic (mallard, pintail, teal). The study shows a significant difference between species of ducks in the average size and weight of seeds ingested. No effect of season was found, suggesting a segregation between ducks throughout the annual cycle.
